Cellulite is one of the most feared conditions by women all over the country. It is a condition many women hope to never have to suffer though. A lot of women don’t understand what causes cellulite so they really don’t have a clue on how to stop it or treat it once it has shown up. You need to educate yourself on what causes cellulite so that you can begin to stop it. Let’s get into what cellulite is and how you can keep its appearance at bay.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is common on the parts of the body that contain the most fat. The buttocks, the thighs and the upper parts of your arms will carry the most body fat, and as a result this is where cellulite is most likely to appear. When cellulite appears it looks like large bumps underneath the skin, the bumps do not resemble the bumps you would see when one gets acne, the bumps are like little lumps underneath the skin. If you have ever seen someone with large thighs in shorts in the summer then you probably know what I am talking about. Dimples, large lumps, and dips in the skin. People have comically referred to it as cottage cheese or body cheese.

What causes it?

Cellulite appears when the fat cells in the body enlarge so much that they have no where else to go, the fat cells will keep growing until they find their place under the skin as they form the lumps and dimples that make up cellulite. This is why overweight people are a prime candidate for cellulite. The more weight you gain the more you put yourself at risk for cellulite. Men do not suffer from this condition as much because their body is not built to collect body fat like a woman. Women have much higher body fat than men do so they are more at risk.

How can you stop it?

I am going to give it to you straight. The best way to stop cellulite is to make sure you keep yourself in shape. A lot of people have certain body types that are just not built for massive weight gain. The body fat has to have somewhere to go. Jogging on a frequent basis can help you, aerobic exercise can help, and of course practicing a healthy diet. By keeping your weight under control you will control your cellulite.

1. As people age they begin to lose their skin elasticity and this affects the skin. Take good care to give your body what it needs to keep your skin elasticity strong.

Cellulite is not an attractive quality as far as the people who suffer from it are concerned. It is a condition that most would prefer not to think about. But understanding the causes are important if you hope to keep it away. Chris Imamshah
