Three Leadership Styles which Are Applied in Leading a Company

When we learn about leadership, we will see many kinds of leadership styles. A leader has certain leadership style. It influences by some factors such as the social life of the society, the condition of the country, and many others. In the world, there are three Leadership Styles which are very popular. Usually, these three leadership styles are used by a leader to run their authority as the leader. In fact, in leading a company, a manager also use one of those leadership styles to lead their staff or employee.

The first leadership style is autocratic. It is considered as a leadership style which still uses classical method to lead a group. This style seems like an extreme style. A leader who uses this style has strong authority or it can be said as an absolute leadership. Therefore, this style doesn’t give freedom toward its followers to critic or give suggestion toward the leader. In other words, a manager gives small opportunity toward the workers to give suggestion or critical toward the policy in that company. The second leadership style is democratic. It is very different from the first one. In this style, the workers are given freedom to give their suggestion or ideas in order that the quality of a company can improve well. However, because of there is involvement or participation from the workers, this condition influence the working process. It means that when the manager wants to take a decision, the company will need longer time. It happens because the managers have to listen to the stakeholders’ opinion. In other words, this style can hamper the process of making a decision.

The third style which can be applied in leading a company is bureaucratic. This style is considered as the well-regulated leadership style. It means that this style asks the workers or staff to obey the rule. Therefore, there is minimum tendency for them to break the rule from the company.
